We Can Do It

I seriously can't wait for this week to be over so that we can be done with the Theme Studies presentation and hand in the Final Paper for Academic Writing. And speaking of the latter, I'm still patiently waiting for the Mid-Term Paper results. It really feels like everyone except me have got theirs; how bad can my essay be if the teachers don’t even want to correct it? Oh man. I’m going to run out of patience soon.

However, the results of the Introduction course exam came today! I took the exam at 7th October and got FX in middle of November, then I corrected my references and finally, over two months later I got my grade: VG! However, the Swedish grading system isn’t very enlightening; you either get VG, G or F (=fail)! I miss the Finnish system were you can get grades from 4-10 and possibly even more (...,8- ,8 , 8+ and 8½ and then 9-, 9,...). That is so much more interesting than those three grades they’ve got here.

And more good news, we got the rent bill for the next three months today and there was a little surprise there. First of all, they are going to raise the rent by 5% from the September 2011. But they have also decided to make us pay for TV/Cable. The funny thing is that I don’t have a TV neither plans of getting one anytime in near future so I went downstairs to the Boservice to talk to the helpful people there. Well, they nicely told that we are all going to pay an extra 85kr a month for the “possibility” to have TV channels. So it doesn’t matter whether you have a TV or not, you are still going to pay for the freakin’ “possibility”. I was slightly furious when I got back home but strangling customer service people could be against the law...Even in Rosengård.

Good night.
