The Second Week

The time is passing by slowly and I'm sitting on the floor as I still don't have any furniture. But I've got Internet, food in the fridge and a roof over my head so I'm still pretty satisfied with my life here. This week I've had my main focus on getting the course literature, the Swedish social number and a bank account. But I've also looked around in town, found some interesting places and met up with some great people.

(A piece of Malmö)

I managed to find another cool second-hand shop called Myrorna (there's two of them in Malmö or at least I've found two by far) and got myself a gorgeous yellow tea pot, some funny glasses and a fork. I think I might get a spoon next week. After all these kind of big purchases can't be made just like that! Oh my. I'm also happy to announce that I've finally found a calendar I think I can live with! And I bought a little red notebook that will replace the black'n'white one I got as a present in Switzerland. It's been very dear to me although it's so full of everything I can't find anything from there anymore.

(Gotta go back there and see if I can find some more cool stuff)

On Tuesday I found myself in Pildammsparken again and although I sat down on the bench to go through my calendar and the never-ending to-do list I managed to relax for few minutes and watch some odd birds eat grass. I've noticed that it's hard for me to relax and just stroll around or sit still without hurrying somewhere or just wiggling about. But I hope that soon I'll be able to sit in a park and watch the people around me and breath in some Malmö air and just empty my head. Although I should probably try that next year as the upcoming winter isn't the best time for that kind of activity!

This week has indeed been more relaxed than the previous one. I've had only two lectures by far and I've got about 300 pages to read for the next Wednesday. Well, you might wanna ask why am I surfing in Internet then?! I gotta admit I haven't been very motivated to sit down with the book yet but I'll keep trying. Now that my paperwork here is also almost done I don't have any real excuses to avoid studying.

(The University library Orkanen - I should move my bottom over there and do some studying!)

And yes, I got my Swedish personnummer and yesterday I got an account at Nordea as well so slowly it's starting to feel like I'm actually living here. Can't wait for the bills to arrive!
